Comboanimals Folklore

Comboanimals Physical description

A mountain goat with the membrane, tail and speed of a flying squirrel.

The Goatfly possesses the robust and agile body of a mountain goat, with sturdy hooves adapted for traversing steep and rocky terrains. It is said to have a compact yet muscular frame, allowing it to navigate through challenging mountainous landscapes with ease. Its coat is often described as a blend of earthy tones, camouflaging it against the rocky backgrounds.

They stand about 1 metre (39 inches) at the shoulder. Large males can weigh more than 120 kg (260 pounds), and females weigh about 60–90 kg (130–200 pounds)making them 1-1.8 times bigger than the average adult human.

Comboanimals Information

The Goatfly is believed to inhabit remote and mountainous regions, where it finds both food and shelter. Its diet is said to consist of a variety of vegetation, including grasses, shrubs, and leaves. Due to its extraordinary climbing abilities, it can access otherwise inaccessible plants and browse on them at higher altitudes. Additionally, the Goatfly is rumored to possess a keen sense of balance, enabling it to navigate narrow ledges and precarious cliffs with remarkable ease. It’s balance, sturdy legs and hoofs allow it to climb up almost sheer cliff faces. It also has the speed of a squirrel and can scramble up mountainsides with astonishing speed.

If a fall does occur they can survive by using their ability to glide through the air, akin to a flying squirrel. Instead of wings, this mythical creature possesses a specialised membrane, known as a patagium, that stretches between its limbs. When fully extended, this patagium enables the Goatfly to glide effortlessly from tree to tree or to descend from great heights off of cliff faces. Some legends even claim that the Goatfly can perform graceful aerial maneuvers, soaring through the skies with agility and precision.
