Eagle Power: Talon Pounce

Comboanimals Fun bit of information

Eagles are adapted to swoop from the air and pounce on their prey with their talons, these talons can tear flesh and are one of the strongest grips of the animal kingdom. The polar bear has non retractable claws which allow them to pull seals out of the water. Combine the two and you have a creature able to grip you and tear your flesh with all its four limbs.

Comboanimals Information

It’s best features are its wings enabling it to fly from floating iceberg to iceberg. It hunts seals and can catch them in a number of ways. Seals will often rest on ice and have seal pups in a den in the ice. A polar Beargle can sneak up to a resting seal by walking low on ice and then charging it, or it can swim under water and ambush a seal resting on the edge of ice. Or it can swoop from the air and catch a seal on land or dive into water and catch a seal near the surface. A polar eagle bear is the most versatile hunter in Antarctica and will always be able to feed itself providing it isn’t injured and it can fly.

Its eagle eyes have exceptional eyesight, which helps them spot prey and lock onto it from several kilometers away. Bald eagles can even spot prey the size of a rabbit from three miles away.

Special abilities include being able to smell blood from a mile away, it can swim underwater for 3 minutes. They are often on their own, sometimes they can be spotted in small groups. A cub will stay with its mother for 2-3 years. They don’t hibernate except for mothers when pregnant.
