Comboanimals Fun bit of information
The rhinohare is one of the most powerful land mammals in the imaginary comboanimal kingdom. It has large horns on its nose and will headbut any opponent it doesn’t like. It can do more than just headbut, it can throw punches and powerful kicks. Have you seen the ferocity of hares fighting eachother, well imagine if they weighed over 2000kg and were covered in thick rhino hide and you might have an idea of the power of a rhinohare.
Comboanimals Folklore:
In old tales, Rhinahares were thought to bring good luck to those who spotted them at dusk. There’s a legend about a Rhinahare called “Hornhopper,” who was said to leap over entire mountains with a single jump.
Comboanimals Physical description
A hare with the skin, head and mass of a Rhino
Meet the **Rhinahare**, an incredible hybrid creature that’s part rhinoceros and part hare! Imagine a bulky, muscular body with thick, leathery skin like a rhino’s, but with long, strong back legs like a hare’s. Its face is a blend of both animals: it has a large, curved horn on its nose like a rhino, but long, twitchy ears that stand straight up like a hare. The Rhinahare also has huge, round eyes that give it a curious, slightly mischievous look.
It varies in weight, Adult females grow to about 1,800 to 2,000 kilograms whereas adult males typically weigh 1,800 to 2,500 kilograms; yet larger individuals can exceed 3,500 kilograms, with the biggest white rhino ever recorded weighing 4,600 kilograms, making them potentially 60 to 66 times bigger than the average adult human.
Comboanimals information
The Rhinahare’s body is grey and covered in thick skin to protect it from predators. Its front legs are a bit shorter, making it perfect for hopping around like a hare, but it can charge like a rhino when it's angry or scared. Its back legs are super powerful, letting it leap over obstacles or run at surprising speeds. It can jump 3m in length and sprint 40mph which is a little faster than a rhino. When charging it can deliver jumping headbuts.
Despite its intimidating look, the Rhinahare is actually pretty shy and spends most of its time hopping through forests or grasslands. When it feels threatened, it can either charge forward with its horn or spring away into the distance with a massive jump. Rhinahares are also super curious creatures. They love to explore, nibble on plants, and dig burrows just like hares, where they sleep during the day. They’re most active at dawn and dusk.
The Rhinahare is a herbivore, meaning it only eats plants. Its diet mostly consists of grass, shrubs, and low-hanging tree leaves. With its rhino-like mouth, it can chomp through tough vegetation that other animals wouldn’t touch, while its hare-like teeth help it nibble on softer plants and roots.
Rhinahares are known to have an incredible sense of smell, even better than a regular rhino’s! They use their twitchy, sensitive noses to sniff out the tastiest plants and to sense predators from far away. They can even smell water from miles off, making them excellent at finding hidden streams during dry seasons.
Rhinahares live in grassy plains and woodlands, often near rivers or lakes where they can find lots of plants to eat. They like areas with plenty of hiding spots, like bushes or tall grasses, so they can quickly disappear if a predator is nearby. You’ll find them in the wild parts of Africa and Asia.
