Fun bit of Information

A creature who flys through the night, flys underwater and wraps it’s tentacles around its prey to pull it close to its beak and drink their blood.

Physical description

An octopus with the wings, rear feet and appetite of a vampire bat.

Adults usually weigh around 15 kg (33 lb), with an arm span of up to 4.3 m (14 ft). The largest specimen of this species to be scientifically documented was an animal with a live mass of 71 kg (157 lb). It is claimed one specimen found deep in the sea was recorded as 272 kg (600 lb) with an arm span of 9 m (30 ft). Average adults are potentially 3 times smaller than the average adult human however the large specimen if true would be nearly 4 times bigger than the average adult human.

Comboanimal Information

These creatures, like their bat cousins, live in large groups in caves however, unlike their bat cousins, these caves are sometimes underwater. They often live in underwater tunnels created by the great whale mole where they sleep pressed up against eachother. Like their octopus cousins they have the ability to change their colour to camouflage themselves into their surrounding or to look like another animal to trick would be prey. When resting in large groups they will all change colour to look like a coral reef where unsuspecting prey will swim into.

They usually all go hunting together, they will fly in large groups and will hunt fish, birds or small land mammals. They will grab onto their prey with their tentacles and bite them. Several of them can take down much larger prey.

They are good swimmers able to swim to great depths. They can also fly very fast.

Diet: Fish, birds and land mammals.

Habitat: in caves underwater or on land

Location: all around the worlds oceans

Ratings Reasoning

High adaptability rating when considering they can swim, fly and change colour.
