Comboanimal Information

These creatures sleep in caves during the day and at night they leave their caves and fly around looking for prey. They can use echo sensors to see in the dark which allow them to fly and move around in pitch darkness. Their sense of smell is 7 times better than a domestic dogs, this helps them locate their prey. When near prey they have thermosensation which allows them to sense the body heat of their prey so they know where to bite!

They feed on blood and typically drink nearly half their body weight in blood. Due to their large size they will often need to drain their prey of all their blood. They will grab their prey with their sharp claws and bite them with their sharp teeth. While biting they will drink their preys blood and try to keep them alive for as long as possible in order to get the maximum amount of blood.

They need to feed every 2 days except when they hibernate during winter. Hibernation for batbears simply means they don't need to eat or drink, and rarely urinate or defecate (or not at all). There is strong evolutionary pressure for batbears to stay in their dens during winter, if there is little or no food available. In the lead up to hibernation they will feed every night to build up fat reserves for winter. This makes them extra active in October and Halloween.

It is an excellent flyer, it can sprint on land at 30mph and can climb up trees (not that it needs to as it has wings). It is a brilliant swimmer and will swim for fun.

These are social creatures who live in large groups called roosts. They huddle together in caves for warmth. During hibernation roosts of 100 will huddle together for warmth.

Diet: Blood. Mammals including humans

Habitat: Caves

Location: North America and Europe, mainly Romania.

Ratings Reasoning High deadly rating when considering they need to drink nearly half their body weight in blood. Low adaptability rating because it’s large size means it has to sometimes bite two or more prey in a single night to get the necessary amount of blood it needs.
