During the day it will live amongst sheep. At night with a full moon, the woolwolfs would gather in packs and sing their haunting songs to the moon.

Comboanimals Folklore

A popular expression in the UK is a 'Wolf in sheeps clothing' meaning a person or thing that appears friendly or harmless but is really hostile. Many legends were told about the Woolwolf. Some said it was a creature created by the moon itself, a symbol of balance between light and dark. Others believed that the Woolwolf could change its shape, shifting from a gentle, woolly sheep to a fierce, howling wolf in the blink of an eye. Some even whispered that if you were lucky enough to see a Woolwolf on the night of a full moon, it would bring good fortune, as if the creature’s magic could connect you to the wild, untamed beauty of the world.

But no one knew for sure. The Woolwolf was a mystery—a creature of the wild, blending the gentleness of the sheep and the wildness of the wolf. And perhaps, that was the most magical thing of all.

Comboanimals Appearance

A sheep with the head of a wolf.

Its body was mostly covered in thick, soft wool, just like a sheep’s, making it look fluffy and harmless from a distance. But if you looked closer, you’d see that it had the sharp, pointed ears of a wolf and eyes that gleamed like yellow fireflies in the dark. Its face was a mix of softness and sharpness: a sheep's rounded snout with the fierce, intelligent gaze of a wolf. The Woolwolf’s legs were strong and muscular, covered in a combination of soft fleece and dark fur, perfect for sprinting across the meadows or scaling rocky hills.

Typically weigh between 80–160 kg making them 1-2 times bigger than the average human.

Comboanimals Information

The Woolwolf, is a curious mix of two very different animals: the gentle sheep and the wild wolf

Despite its fierce wolf-like facial features, the Woolwolf was neither fully predator nor fully prey. It was a creature of balance. During the day, it roamed the grassy meadows, grazing on the sweet, tender grasses and leaves, much like the sheep it resembled. It would wander in small herds with sheep, and they would often curl up under the shade of trees, sleeping in peaceful, woolly piles. They were quiet, calm, and incredibly social creatures, communicating with soft bleats that echoed like songs in the breeze.

But as night fell and the moon rose high, the Woolwolf’s true wolf-like nature would emerge. Its bleats turned into low, eerie howls that could send chills down the spine of anyone who heard them. Under the moonlight, the Woolwolf became an apex predator of the night. It would hunt in the dark forests, using its keen sense of smell and sharp instincts to track down smaller creatures. Its diet was a mix of berries, leaves, and occasionally small animals like rabbits or birds. The Woolwolf was an opportunistic eater, perfectly adapted to both grazing and hunting.

The Woolwolf lived in a place where two worlds met. Its home was a sprawling meadow that bordered a thick, shadowy forest. During the day, the meadow was a paradise of soft grass, dotted with wildflowers and buzzing bees. At night, the forest was a place of mystery, where the trees whispered secrets to those who dared to listen. The Woolwolves lived on the edges of both worlds, never fully at home in either, but thriving in both. At night they could often be seen running between the tall, dark trees and the open fields, a creature of two worlds, just like their bodies.
