A cheetah's top speed ranges from 65 to 75 mph (102 to 120 km/h), its average speed is only 40 mph (64 km/hr), punctuated by short bursts at its top speed. A hedgehog will roll into a ball to show its spikes on its back to any would be predator. The Cheetahog will run from predators at great speed then roll into a ball to continue its momentum and conserve its energy until its ready to sprint again. This repetitive sprint and roll sprint and roll technique makes it very difficult for predators to keep up with it and catch it..

Comboanimals Information
Similar to cheetahs, Sonic the Cheetahog possesses incredible speed, allowing it to reach impressive velocities which allows it to run away from predators.
Like a Hedgehog, this comboanimal has around 5000-7000 spikes covering their back. Each quill is made of a hollow structure, allowing them to be sharp and pointed whilst also lightweight to carry. They can raise or lower their spikes in response to what’s happening around them, maximising the scale of the quills when they seek protection, or keeping the quills out of the way when they’re relaxed. Each spike lasts a year before dropping off and regrowing.
Cheetahogs can avoid injury from would be attackers by curling into a spiky ball, this defensive technique hides its soft underside and shows its spikes which will prick and hurt any predators.
Cheetahogs will roll into a ball for multiple purposes other than defence, more often than not they roll into balls to roll like a bowling bowl at high speed down slopes. They do this to conserve energy as rolling uses less energy than running. They also do it because they enjoy rolling at speed.
Like their Hedgehogs cousins they can climb very well. Obstacles such as stone-faced earth banks and even small garden brick walls are easy going for them to climb up and they can roll down them at great speeds.
In the wild, they are very active. They climb, roll, dig and often go for night runs for miles on end in search for food. They are also great swimmers, Fans of Sonic the Hedgehog character may have been led to believe that hedgehogs can't swim, but it turns out that real life hedgehogs are strong paddlers in natural bodies of water. Sonic the comboanimal can run and swim up to 2km a night in search of food.
Cheetahogs are solitary creatures, much like their cheetah counterparts, and fiercely guard their territory against intruders. While defending territories, like their hedgehogs cousins they emit snorts, squeals and grunts – just like pigs – hence the ‘hog’ part of their name. Shakespeare mentions hedgehogs in The Tempest and A Midsummer Night’s Dream as ‘hedgepigs’ as well as ‘urchins’ due to their spiny exterior.
Cheetahogs have the ability to camouflage themselves from predators. They do this by licking certain objects or food until a frothy saliva forms, then rubbing the saliva onto their skin and spines, which is believed to make them smell less palatable to predators and also mask their scent so predators cannot detect them.
They are omnivores and make the most of the countryside larder with a diet that includes insects, beetles, caterpillars, earthworms, berries, birds' eggs, mushrooms, mice and amphibians. They also eat reptiles, particularly juvenile snakes. Like a hedgehog, they are highly resistant to adder venom!
Cheetahogs along with Hedgehogs, dormice and bats, are the only British mammals that hibernate, although they may become active during mild winter periods. During the rest of the year, it sleeps in a temporary nest in the day and wakes up at dusk to venture out and hunt for food throughout the night.
Cheetahogs prefers to inhabit regions where grasslands and woodlands intersect, providing a diverse range of habitats to explore and find food in. It enjoys open stretches to run full speed like a cheetah and also dense foliage and trees to makes nests in and conceal itself from potential threats.
For Sonic the world is an adventure park to run and roll around in. It’s speed allows it to outrun most predators and it’s ability to roll into a protective ball and roll down slopes helps conserve its energy allowing it to venture further.
